How does the Life Research platform work?- Our Find service locates the product you require from our suppliers

The near infinite ability of antibodies to recognise antigens and their broad research application has resulted in a diverse supplier community ranging from research groups to global biotech giants. The breadth and depth of the supplier community has made it difficult from researchers and suppliers to connect resulting in the majority of sales being made through a small number of major suppliers who resell the products of the small companies under their own brand. We believe that the research community benefits from the direct relationship offered by a marketplace for the following reasons:
- straightforward communications to resolve technical challenges – Talk to the people who actually produced the product.
- confidence in the quality of the product: who made the product, how was it produced and what batch it came from? – With monoclonals researchers complain that one batch worked and then next didn’t.
- Price efficiency: the supplier is setting the price and not providing large discounts to distributors and OEM resellers – Regularly small suppliers set fair prices that are doubled by resellers who distribute under another brand name.
- Delivery efficiency, the product is shipped direct from the supplier to the researcher – often rare products are shipped from one place to another before arriving at the customers location adding cost and time.
- Wire transfer – We invoice you and you have 30 days to pay
- Credit card and debit card leveraging the PayPal platform.
We offer six major currencies for purchasing products on the Life Research platform:
- US dollars
- Australian dollars
- Canadian dollars
- GB pounds
- Euros
- Japanese Yen
To change currency simply go to the top left hand corner of the website and click the (change) hyperlink next to currency.
There are no additional fees based on the currency you choose so select the one that best suits you best.
To change language simply go to the top left hand corner of the website and click the (change) hyperlink next to language.
Online
Once you find the product you are after simply click the “Add to Cart” button and the product will be placed in your shopping cart. You can continue to shop for other products or simply select the “Proceed to Checkout” button to complete the order. The checkout work flow will take you through the process required to complete the order.
You can sign up for an account with Life Research to make future orders quicker or simple make the purchase as a guest user.
Phone
If you would prefer to place an order by phone please refer to our Contact Us [include hyperlink to page] page and call us on the best number for your location.
To create an account simply select the “Sign In” button in the “Buy…” panel and then select the “Create an Account”. This will take you through a straight-forward process to create a new account.
The benefits of having an account are as follows:
- No need to re-enter your contact and billing details each time you place an order.
- Keep track of the status of your orders online and review past orders. If you want to buy the same product again then simply click the “Reorder” button next to a past order.
- Provide feedback on products to help guide your peers.
Life Research provides a first line of support for all technical advice and support. Please feel free to contact us via your preferred method from our Contact Us page. We will do our very best to ensure that all enquires receive a response within 24 hours.
If the technical enquiry requires the expertise of our suppliers we will contact them on your behalf and ensure that you have a prompt response.
If the product that you receive does not meet the specification on the data sheet then we will provide a free replacement product or a full refund. If the product is used outside the specifications provide in the data sheet then unfortunately no refund or replacement will be available. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions of Sale for more detail.
Managing your Account
Simply click on the “Sign In” button and then select the “Forgot Your Password?” hyperlink. This will automatically send you an email with a replacement password.
You can reset your password by first signing in, then select the “My Account” button and then on your dashboard you can select the “Change Password” hyperlink.
You can change your personal details by first signing in, then select the “My Account” button and then on your dashboard you can select the “edit” hyperlink next to the relevant details.

Product Availability and Delivery
Once the order process is completed the supplier is immediately notified of your order and the product is shipped as soon as possible. The data sheet for each product provides an estimated availability field eg. 1-3 days.
Products are shipped in protective packaging and carried by the appropriate logistics provider for your region.
Our standard shipping charge is $30 USD, however this may vary by region.
Our suppliers carry sufficient stock to ensure the availability of all normal orders. If for some reason there is a problem with the stock levels then we will notify you immediately.
